October in Victoria
With October just around the corner, we can already feel the change of seasons beginning here in Victoria. After the cornucopia of local festivals, weekend road trips, and sun-soaked adventures of Summer 2017, we are ready to cozy up to Autumn – a season for staying close to home that is defined by warm textures, crisp smells in the air, and vibrant colours.
Clipper Vacations has shared a comprehensive list of shops, restaurants, and attractions around Victoria and the lower Island that may inspire some ideas for fun things to do this season in our city. We especially love the suggestions of getting outside to explore the natural beauty of the Japanese gardens at Butchart Gardens, or visiting the Empress for their renowned afternoon tea service in the newly renovated Lobby Lounge.
Early October is a great time to head to a pumpkin farm to gather your festive Thanksgiving and Halloween decorations. A visit to Galey Farms is a wonderful family tradition, with hayrides, a 6-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, and even a haunted mansion. Consider a ghostly walking tour to learn about Victoria’s darker history. Spend Halloween at Night Shift: Dark Circus event – an after-hours, 19+ party at The Royal BC Museum.
With the days getting shorter and the weather getting cooler, you may just want to tuck inside with a cozy blanket, a good book from Russell Books, some delicious soup from The Root Cellar, and fresh baked goodies from Fol Epi. Whatever you are in the mood for, your options in Victoria are endless.
If you have any other recommendations about fun Fall activities in the Greater Victoria Community, please share them with us on our Facebook page.
We hope you all enjoy Autumn in our beautiful city as much as we do here at The Condo Group!
